Insights Cards can be presented in different visualizations; Headline, Top Content, Bar Chart, Pie Chart, and Line Chart. Since Insights Cards consider data before visuals you can click Creating and Editing Insights Cards to learn how to create card content. Once you get to the visualization section you will see links to creating all three card types, here we'll be creating a Headline Card visualization.
Headline cards allow you to package several metrics into a compact and customizable view. The headline and subheading data you choose to display will reflect the Filter(s) and Calculation(s) of the card. Headline cards display a brief summary of data and are a great high-level visual, but they don't stop at a broad view. Clicking on a Headline card will open a right drawer that provides further details.
Creating Headline Card Visualizations
Visualization Type: Headline
In the Visualization section of the card editor, select Headline as the visualization type.
Click the + button to select your hero metric, this is the metric that will be prominently displayed as the headline of your card. The populated variable options will be based on the content type of the card.
Hero Metric Color
Enhance the visuals of your dashboard by choosing different colors for your hero metrics. First, select a color set. Then, click on Hero Metric Color and select one color from the set.
Select Transparent Background to remove the background of a Headline Card, the card will now match the dashboard and be visually set apart from other cards.
Click in the text box to enter your subtitle content. This information is a brief set of information you want to be relayed about the card; the text you enter will be displayed as it's written while you can include a specified data by adding subtitle variables that will update with the rest of the data.
To enter subheading variables within your text, click the second + button and choose from the populated list of variables based on the card's content.
The subheading section allows for basic styling, including Bold, Italic, and Underlined text as well the ability include hyperlinked data.
Pro Tip: With the advanced styling, card descriptions can contain links to full dashboards to reinforce your insights!
Once you have completed the visualization section, click save in the card editor to save your card. If you want to make changes to other sections of the card editor, return to Creating and Editing Insights Cards.
