Dashboards offer customized visualizations of multiple datasets...using your already existing data...all on one page. They're the feature that keeps on giving. You can turn your daily self check-ins, team meetings, monthly forecasting, and more into one stop shops. Your entire funnel review meeting could take place on ONE dashboard.

Customized dashboards can provide you with high-level views of multiple datasets, handsome and useful visualizations, and provide immediate drill-down into details....all on one dashboard. So let's build one.

Click on the Dashboard icon in the left menu of your screen or click Dashboards to get started.

Creating a Dashboard

1. Create New Dashboard

There are two ways to create a new dashboard, from the Dashboard page or from Definition Management.

• Creating a New Dashboard from the Insights Page

Open Dashboards. Click Create New + at the bottom of the Second Level Nav.

• Creating a New Dashboard from Definition Management

Click Settings from the dropdown bar in the left nav

Click Boards to open Board Definition Management then click the Add button to open the board creator.

2. Choose a template

Choose a template based on content type then click next.

Insights templates establish the content type accessible in a dashboard, choose a template based on the type of content you want available to your board. Use the title and description of each template to help you decide which board best fits your needs as the content type cannot be changed.

3. Name and Description

Enter the name you want for your dashboard and its description, then click next.

4. Add Tags

The purpose of tags is to group boards by topic (or tag). When using the search bar in the second level nav, boards with tags will automatically be listed under the group(s). Add any additional tags you want to be associated with this board by clicking Add Tag and searching for or selecting additional tags.

5. Choose board audience (who can see this board)

Click on Audience and select the User Group(s) to which you want this dashboard to be visible. You can also define additional users by searching for a team member name or email.

6. Choose board editors (who can update this board)

Click Editors and select the User Group(s) that will be able to edit the board. You can also define additional users by searching for a team member name or email.

7. Add cards for board content

Cards will illustrate content built with your own data that you want available on your dashboard. Some common cards have been included out of the box, let's add one that's already available to get your dashboard up and running. Before you know it you'll be creating and editing cards and adding cards to your dashboard!

Click the Insights menu in the board editor. Row 1 is already populated, click Add Card and choose one of the available card options, we'll use Booked by Month (Bar Chart).

The number to the right of the card title allows you to decide the card's width. There are 12 widths available, selecting 6 will size the card at half the width of Row 1. (Six is half of twelve, get it?) This feature allows you to customize the size and how many cards are visible across each row.

Once you have created your dashboard, you can add cards directly from the dashboard as well.

8. Save

Once you have added cards to your board, click Save. Your new dashboard is now available in the dashboard search in the top left of Insights.

After saving, your dashboard will be created and show the Booked by Month card we created at half the width of Row 1. Keep scrolling for a peek at a dashboard with more cards!

Check out the awesome visual you can customize in one dashboard. Headline cards, Content List cards, Bar Chart cards, oh my! Plus, they're all built with your already existing data!

Editing Dashboards

Want to make a change? You can always edit your dashboard by clicking on the gear icon on the top right and selecting Edit {Board Title}. Go to Editing Dashboards for more specifics on board editing but here's a hint: editing a board is very similar to steps 3-8 above.

So you've built multiple boards, now where do you find them? Go to Second Level Navigation to learn how.

Remember to check out Creating and Editing Insights Cards so you can add your own data to the various dashboards you're going to build!
